Well in the process running the brush around the circumference of the inside of the bottom of the cup, I still managed to slice my thumb when it got too close to the top of the cup.

I don’t go through enough dishes to warrant running the dishwasher daily (or even every two or three days) and I like to keep a clean kitchen so I wash dishes by hand pretty regularly. After the last cut on my thumb, I think I’m going to sand the top of the cups to a smooth finish. If they would have done something similar or rounded the edges, even if slightly, this would get four stars.

PS: If you’re trying to decide between this and the cheaper Bella Cucina Rocket Blender, go with this. The Rocket lasted me about two months and their “customer service” was dreadful.

I got this for one basic purpose: to make smoothies quick and easy. It serves that purpose well. It looks like a little microplane grater for your feet. I like the way it’s made to cup in your hand while you’re using it, and that it has a little base/cover to keep the blade safe in a drawer.

With very light pressure moving back and forth, it devoured my calluses in record time. Be sure to use on dry skin as directed, and don’t try to muscle it too much. I highly recommend lotion and socks after using it to moisturize the newly liberated skin.

It catches most of the shavings, unless you turn it over. I did my feet over the sink so it wasn’t a problem for me. I don’t think of a pedicure as an ‘anywhere’ task, so I don’t really see the loose shavings as a problem. If you hold it by the sides and pry the blade part out from the top then it’s fairly easy to empty. The emery file that sticks to the bottom might be a nice touch, but I don’t foresee using it. I don’t know yet how long the blade will be effective, but it has worked so well that I’ll spring for the replacement blades without a murmur.

However, it is also very expensive as a disposable battery. So it is important to recognize the strength of L91, and use it only in applications that give you the best results. Otherwise you’ll be wasting your money. According to data sheet published by Energizer, the capacity of the Lithium AA cell (L91) is 3000mAh. This number remains nearly constant with load current. In comparison, the ordinary Alkaline battery (such as the Energizer E91 AA) is rated as 2800mAh, but only at a very light load of 25mA. At a heavy load of 1000mA (typical for a digital camera or flash unit), its capacity drops to below 1000mAh. This number gets even worse at low temperature. At zero degree C and 1000mA load, the L91 can provide about seven times more energy compared to the E91. This is where the marketing claim of “Last up to 7 times longer” comes from. When used in a digital camera at room temperature of 25 degree C, the L91 is more likely to last 3-4 times longer than alkaline. This is enough to justify its price, which is also around 3-4 times higher than alkaline. However, in low-drain applications (such as smoke detector, wireless mouse or remote control) alkaline cells will last just as long at a fraction of the cost. The new generation of ‘ready-to-use’ NiMH cells such as SANYO eneloop and Rayovac Hybrid solved this problem by having very low self discharge rate. But they have lower capacity of only 2000-2100mAh. Bottom line: If you need AA batteries for a long hiking trip, then L91 is obviously your best choice. For most other situations, I recommend using low self-discharge NiMH cells for lower operating cost.

nothing in the digital camera world drains the battery faster than the external flash unit for dSRL. my flash (Canon FX430) takes 4 AA batteries and requires changing perhaps every so often. since 4 AA batteries are kind of heavy to carry in my camera pack, and since the flash unit is absolutely crucial in photography, i cannot afford running out of battery on it! ever since i bought these batteries however i had the peace of mind that my flash won’t die on me, period. the peace of mind allows me to take as many flash photography as i want without any mental burden. i know every time i turn it on it will be ready to go. amazing.

I have been using Diet Power on and off for the last 3 years. The first time I used it I dropped 50 pounds in about 6 months but it was NOT EASY. It takes discipline and lots of working out. I am not by nature a disciplined person, so it took some getting used to. Truth be told, I gained it all back because I stopped using Diet Power and got into old habits. I am now working on losing it again, and am down 15 pounds over three weeks. Diet Power does not do the work for you, and the information you get from it is only as good as the information you provide. It calculates your Metabolic Rate (which is also the number of calories you must consume to maintain your current weight). It then provides you with a calorie budget that is well below your metabolic rate. As long as you log your food faithfully and honestly and stay within your calorie budget YOU WILL LOSE weight. It is based on scientific fact. I will admit the program takes some getting used to, and if you plan to use it seriously, invest in a food scale, because you need to be very precise. What I like about it is that it doesn’t judge and it doesn’t restrict any food. While in a sense you can “Eat anything you want” you do need to stay within your daily calorie budget. You will quickly realize however that while you CAN eat ice cream for example, if you do, you will use up your calorie budget VERY fast. But if you have a sweet tooth and cant live without a scoop of Ice Cream, GO FOR IT! It won’t kill you and as long as you stay within your budget, again, YOU WILL LOSE WEIGHT! Its not a miracle. Customer Review: Not for Weight Watcher’s but has some good features
I downloaded the trial version because they said on their website that it worked with the Weight Watcher’s diet and many other diets. When you fill in your profile, it has a place to mark which diet you are using, but that is about as far as that goes. There is no way to add point values to food, therefore no way to track your points. So it was useless for my particular needs. However, out of all the programs I have tried, it was the easiest to start using. They have easy to follow videos on their website to help you get started. I also liked that it tells you when you are low or high in a certain nutrient (compared to the RDA). It would have helped track my chronically low magnesium, iron, and vitamin A. If you want software to track your calorie and nutrient intake and suggest your daily calorie budget, I think this would work really well. It does not, however, do all they suggest.

This is a great scale for anyone wanting to develop healthier eating habits. This has really helped me become more balanced in my choices. I’m able to really determine how many calories I’m taking in on a daily basis instead of guesstimating. What an eye opener - I always guessed too high and I wasn’t taking in enough calories! I have the Rich Double Chocolate flavored powder. I’m probably not doing this right, but I mix one scoop with 8 oz. of 2% milk (I know, not skim, shame on me!), and it tastes like chocolate milk. If I enjoy the taste of something, I’m more likely to continue doing it. I’ve been drinking two “shakes” a day in addition to 4 smaller meals, and I look forward to it each time. As far as results, I don’t know if it has made a difference, because when I just began serious weight training about 3 weeks ago, and have had the powder since the beginning of the third week. I have been gaining weight, and my workouts are constantly improving, so something must be going right. If you like chocolate milk, and you would like an extra boost of 24g protein (plus what is in the milk), this product/flavor may be for you. I haven’t tried it in water, and I really don’t plan to. Chocolate flavored water does not appeal to me. I’ll put up with the extra fat if it means that I’ll actually stay with the program.

I thought the price was high for play food until comparing it to other “cheaper” food. I realized that the quality is actually much higher and indeed worth the money. I like that the play food models healthy foods- fight obesity and teach kids to develop nutritious eating habits- and that it is so incredibly durable made from vinyl material guaranteed to last where other play foods are from cheap plastic and could probably easily be destructed… depending on the kid…I definitely recommend it! Oh and it looks incredibly realistic, when my daughter saw it she bit into a carrot and looked confused until I told her it was for playing and not eating- so much for telling her not to play with her food!!

Yoga For Your Eyes
“This is yoga because this is union with the eyes,” explains Meir Schneider in the introduction to Yoga for Your Eyes. Born legally blind, Schneider underwent many operations as a child but was unable to see more than light and shadow; he had to do all of his schoolwork in Braille. Today he is able to drive a car without use of glasses or contacts, after improving his sight holistically. In this video, Schneider shares his techniques, using movements that originate in two main sources: the techniques of ophthalmologist William Bates and Tibetan yoga.

To begin, Schneider instructs you to remove your contacts or glasses (how he expects you to see the screen clearly enough to follow the exercises is not explained). Then he moves on to “palming,” a vision-improving exercise. The instruction is thorough, including directions on how to breathe, and the movements are simple and relaxing. The second segment is “Testing Your Vision,” in which you’re told to make your own eye chart to graph your improvement. “Stimulating Your Peripheral Vision” is next, and it requires three pieces of black construction paper and tape to help you balance the use of both eyes together. “Outdoor Exercises” explains why older people have more vision difficulties and shows how to improve this problem. The final exercises–”Sunning,” “Skying,” and “Long Swing”–help you to adapt to bright lights.

This is a clear, well-produced video/book/eyechart set. I began using it five days ago and could see only a double image of the big E. Now after the exercises I can read the first three lines. I have worn bifocals for 40 years, and I’m now wearing my glasses only to drive. I don’t see every detail clearly — Mr. Schneider doesn’t either. I do see what I need to see, and my vision has improved in a very short time. This is a gentle method which can do no harm. I wish I had explored it years ago.

You cannot imagine what bravery it took for this DVD to be made. One guest is a former detail man and the producer is former detail woman, now called drug reps. In a PBS documentary style, but with rapid movement between 6 guests, this is the story of overselling drugs, mis-educating physicians, and control of even academic medical research. Even if you are a jaded cynic like me, you will find out some new disgusting angle to the prescription drug business. Here is the place for me to recommend Deadly Medicine by Thomas J. Moore (1995) and any of his other books. And Let Them Eat Prozac by David Healy (2004). And The Trouble with Medical Journals by Richard Smith. And Calculated Risks by Gerd Gigerenzer (2002).

This is an excellent overview of how drug companies will stoop at nothing to show their products in a good light, even if their “cures” are worse than useless and exorbitantly expensive. Two former sales reps explain how the drug companies seduce doctors from the time they’re in med school with gifts, trips, etc. Yes, we all know this, but hearing it from people who engaged in these practices makes their methods seem even more odious and manipulative. I especially liked Dr. Hoffman from UCLA whose calm explanations of the business of medicine and modern drug company tactics were excellent and scathing. I wish this DVD was required by all medical schools.

I unscrewed the cap and 1/2 of the seal popped off with it. I don’t how bad this is, but I’m keeping it. You can’t beat the price.

For anyone who is bothered by a broken seal, or their product being compromised by one, DON’T BUY THIS PRODUCT FROM AMAZON!

I’ve used these sticks with my CBEFM for a few cycles now. Like the OCD person that I am, I’ve used both the CBEFM with monitoring from my doctor, and they both correspond to each other. It’s good to know that it works appropriately. My only complaint is that they are on the pricey side, and since the CBEFM will always ask for them in quantities of 10, you can go through a whole box in one month. My best suggestion is once you get the 1st “peak” day, that you can stop testing.

I only went though 1 bottle of this (about half the recommended cycle) and I made very noticable gains to my muscle mass. More noticable was an improvement in my athletic preformance. I did a cycle of this stuff w/ the I-gh-1. It does take two bottles to do a cycle and you have to swallow a ridiculous amount of pills between the 2 of these supplements. The good is my bench press went up 45 lbs in 3 weeks. I gained 10 lbs of muscle and was only working out 3 times a week and not excessively hard or consistently. Everyone noticed the size in my arms, shoulders, and back increasing. So basically what I’m getting at is yes, this stuff works, and it works well. Now the bad, for those that don’t know these are steroids. They switched around a couple molecules but it’s pretty much the same as the illegal ones. Same side effects are possible and so on. I stopped taking them because my muscles began cramping alot and I started getting headaches. Maybe it was because I wasn’t working out enough using them. Anyway, if you want to get big fast try these, eat lots of protein(2 whey and 2 caseine shakes a day), you’ll see results the first week guaranteed.

This DVD has amazed me with almost immediate results. I saw a HUGE difference once I started on the regimen. Not only does it show you how to eat (which in itself is very loose and are basically just guidelines on how to eat), but most importantly it gives you a abs workout regimen for some rock hard abs. Not only that, but they have different workouts for beginners, intermediates, and experts. I used to kill myself doing 300 sit-ups within 30 minutes and I still would not get half as good results as this workout that probably takes 15 minutes at most. It REALLY burns off that stubborn, hard-to-burn belly fat (although it still won’t substitute a well-balanced diet). I mean, my love handles have basically disappeared. It truly targets your WHOLE core, including abdominals. This is why it is so effective and you don’t need any equipment. Save your money and avoid buying that ab cruncher machine. Customer Review: Ibuprofen in Generic Form is a Best Buy
Ibuprofen is a good over the counter analgesic (pain reliever) that works on mild to moderate pain. Ibuprofen is the generic drug name, and is the active ingredient in Advil and Motrin (which cost much more). It comes in 200 milligam tablets/capsules. For most mild aches, it can be quite effective. Not only does Ibuprofen relieve pain, but it also is a real good anti-inflammatory medication (it lessens swelling). Thus it is also good for arthritis pain, any joint or muscle sprains or strains, and terrific for toothache pain too. If two tablets are taken, it is equivalent to the previously by prescription only product, “Motrin”. Two tablets, or 400 mg of Ibuprofen is for mild to moderate pain. Three tablets, 600 mg, is for moderate to moderately severe pain. All three doses, 200, 400, and 600 mg can be taken every 4 hours as needed for pain. Four tablets is the highest prescribed dose (800 mg), and should only be taken once every 6 hours. Reserve the four tablet dosaging for your really severe pain. The 800mg dose is equivalent to Tylenol #3 (anetaminophen with codiene), another good pain reliever. (Anything more than 200 mg a dose requires a doctor’s prescription.) Ibuprofen can cause stomach upset and mild stomach bleeding, therefore, always take it with a large cup of water and to minimize gastric upset, eat something with it, like some yogurt, some applesauce, a piece of toast, etc. The extra food will help protect your gut. LIke any medication, Ibuprofen should not be taken day after day for an extended period of time without a doctor’s supervision. Ibuprofen in higher doses or low continuous doses can damage your liver and kidneys. If you are planning to use Ibuprofen for only a few days, you should be able to tolerate 2-3 tablets every 4-6 hours as needed (provided you are a generally healthy adult, are not allergic to Ibuprofen, have no existing liver or kidney disease, and have no stomach ulcers or chronic gut condition like Irritable Bowel Syndrome or Chron’s Disease. How you purchase Ibuprofen is up to you, but there are some real good generic Ibuprofen products that are less than half the cost of the “name brand” products (Advil, Motrin). Both the generic and the name brand are equal in terms of strength and effectiveness. The only thing different about the name brand is fancier packaging and perhaps easier to swallow dose forms.
